I get to visit several homes in Flagstaff each day and someone always asks me if they should get a Tank-less Water Heater. Tank-less Systems have made some pretty cool advancements in the last several years. The cost is quite a bit higher but for some homes it is a great idea.
If you really want a system like this you might want to ask yourself a few questions first.
"Do you ever run out of hot water now?"
"Do you have to wait a long time for hot water?"
"Do several people in the home have to use hot water at the same time?"
"Are your energy bills higher than you expect them to be?"
I install several dozen of these of these systems each year. When they are installed correctly and maintained properly they they work great and people rave about them. But if they are not installed or designed perfectly you can expect poor performance.
Some homes are a great fit for a modern tank-less system while other are not. But either way I am glad to stop by your home and see what type of hot water system would work best for you and your family.
Here is an example of a nearly complete system that I installed in Doney Park a few weeks ago. The amount of hot water that can be used at the same time in the home is very impressive.
